Nusa Penida is just fantastic!
It offers incredible dive sites where you have great chances to see the famous and rare Mola – Mola also called Oceanic Sunfish and the majestic Manta Rays that will grow up to 6m in size, which is huge, and some of the most amazing drift dives in Indonesia, Nusa penida although very popular for Scuba Diving it’s also offers amazing experiences for snorkeling. The best period to spot it is from August to October.
In Manta Point there are two cleaning stations and this is where the Manta Ray will come to be cleaned, it’s also means that you will get to see them, the Manta Rays will come up to the surface or around 5m deep from the surface and because the visibility is always good here, you will be sure to see these majestic fish.
Some days you may see only a single Manta Ray and other days you may see more than 10 at a time. Once we have played with the Manta Rays, we can head to Crystal Bay for a chance to see a oceanic sunfish (Mola – Mola) if they come up to the surface, or head up to the north of the island for the chance to witness the edge of the coral triangle at its best and see some stunning and beautiful soft and hard coral formations.

Coral Reef State:
Good variety and number of hard and soft corals. Swell prohibits high growth.
Nice variety of tropical reef fish in Bali. Very often to seeing a big pelagic species such as manta ray, oceanic sun fish and nurse sharks. Manta Rays are seen on almost every trip. Large aggregations of blue spotted stingrays can also be witnessed most dives.
Slight. The difficulty of this dive site comes from the swell which can be strong as the Indian Ocean waves pound this coast. Manta Rays, Turtles, Fish and divers are all swinging together with the motion of the waves. Good buoyancy skills are needed.
10m to 30m. Manta Rays are attracted here by the amount of plankton and nutrients in the water. Bad visibility is often synonymous to having more Manta Rays in the water. The swell can also stir up the bottom and reduces visibility.
The best time to see manta rays and Mola-mola (Sun fish) is start from August until October every years.
Manta rays are almost guaranteed to see, because this site as natural environment for them. Patience is sometimes required before the giants show up.
There is not 100% guarantee you may see the fish such as Mola-mola (sun fish) sometime involve of lucky. Divers are also often surprised by the sheer number of blue spotted stingrays.
Mola-Mola (sun fish) can also be spotted at a cleaning station present on the Manta Point site.
